Hills, vineyards, castles, and amazing panoramas nestled
between the towns of Florence and Siena. Here, you will
find the Chianti region, around 300 square km of
vineyards that give some of the most refined wines in
the world. We find ourselves in a land where it seems
time has just stopped. Each curve and nook of this fascinating
region is filled with stories, and legends that make it
an excellent source of culture, humanity, scenery, architecture,
tourist attractions, gastronomy, and wines.
We will meet at the port at 8:00am and immediately
leave in search of fantastic vistas and amazing landscapes.
Here, local taverns offer traditional typical native dishes
that will tempt your palate.
What you will visit:
La Valdichiana, situated between the Valdorcia and the Val
Tiberina, is the biggest of all the Appenine valleys. Its
name comes from the river Chiana that represents the link
between Arezzo and Siena, geographically and culturally.
A picturesque tour among hill towns sweetened and adorned
by vineyards and olive trees, which have been enriched by
country churches, historic castles and a multitude of medieval
villages. For example, Rigomagno, a picturesque little
town situated on a hill formed by limestone; Sinalunga,
a large medieval town with a breathtaking landscape; Torrita
Di Siena, a town mainly dedicated to creating wood products;
along with so many more such as San Giovanni D? Asso, Chiusi,
Sartiano and Cetona.
The tour also provides a visit to Monteriggione.
Looking upon it from afar, The Castle of Monteriggione,
with its poignant remains of a time long past gives us the
impression that time has stood still inside and outside
the walls of this Italian walled town. Even Dante
had to mention this eccentric village so separated from
all else in "The Divine Comedy".
The villagers and their reality have obviously changed
but still today, he, who has decided to live inside the
walls of this little town, has conserved a slow and passive
rhythm of life. A life that gives its own sense of dimension
between man and nature with proper values committed to its
rural culture and with constant reference back to its past
history. The representation given by the castle for visitors
is quite a charming one seeing as how it appears to be at
the pinnacle of the hill standing in a dominating fashion?just
as a sentry at the defence of the antique Republic. The
taverns inside the village will give you the opportunity
to taste typical products native to the town, homemade bread
and an excellent selection of Tuscan wines.
